The Orange Senqu River Commission (ORASECOM), with support from UNDP, has secured financial support from GEF to implement selected priority activities of the Orange-Senqu River Strategic Action Programme (SAP).
ORASECOM is looking for a suitable candidate for the following Position: –
Communication and Knowledge Management Specialist
Responsibility:
To champion organisation wide knowledge sharing, so that the organisational structure know-how, information and experience is shared internally(appropriately) and externally with cooperating partners and other stakeholders within the basin and beyond.
Requirements:
University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism / Mass communication, business, Social sciences and any other relevant fields and a postgraduate qualification..
Work Experience in water resources management or natural resources management with focus on information systems
7 years’ experience with an organisation’s operations and business tools addressing communication aspects
Knowledge of information management infrastructure
Communications: ability to explain complex concepts in layman’s language
Demonstrate sensitivity for cultural and gender differences
Demonstrate knowledge of how gender relations influence the effectiveness of communications in Africa
Stakeholder Orientation: understands stakeholder needs and concerns, responds promptly and effectively
Eligibility:
• This position is only open to persons with work experience in an African River basin especially in the SADC region.
Term:
One-year contract, renewable based on performance, all along the project lifespan (tentatively estimated to cover the period May 2019 to April 2024)
