Lesotho Electricity Generation Company (LEGCO) is a statutory body registered under Companies Act of 2011 registration number 70536 to manage electricity generation in Lesotho. The mandate of LEGCO is to ensure that Lesotho is self-sufficient in its power supply, starting with solar generation plant at Ha-Ramarothole. To ensure that base load requirements are met through local generation and to enhance the participation of the private sector in electricity supply industry. LEGCO invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions on a fixed term contract;
SYSTEMS SUPPORT OFFICER
Job Summary
Under the Supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the System Support Officer is responsible for the design, upgrade and develop LEGCO existing systems as well as maintaining the Hardware and Software Support.
Main Duties
1. Provides guidance and development of LEGCO ICT Systems.
2. Diagnose and resolve hardware problems
3. Implement systems and suggests new systems.
4. Creates and maintain hardware and base software strategies.
5. Liaises with suppliers to arrange maintenance contracts.
6. Creates and revises standards for base software.
7. Sets up new user’s accounts and profiles and deals with password issues.
8. Installation, configuration and maintenance of work productivity such as Desk-top/Lap-tops, printers, scanners and business phones.
9. Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems
10. Develop and maintain the LEGCO website
11. Provide guidance and technical support to LEGCO staff on issues regarding hardware and software
12. Monitor and maintain electronic systems and networks and respond in a timely manner to requests and faults
13. Provide training to LEGCO staff on issues of software usage as necessary
Job Specifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1. The Incumbent must be in possession of Master’s Degree in Information and Communications Technology, Computer Science or Computer Systems Engineering plus minimum of five (5) years working experience/knowledge of hardware and software platforms.
OR
2. Degree in Information and Communications Technology, Computer Science or Computer Systems Engineering plus minimum of eight (8) years working experience/knowledge of hardware and software platforms.
