Jhpiego also partners with organizations from the community to the national levels, building sustainable, local capacity through advocacy, policy development, health workforce strengthening, and quality and performance improvement approaches.

In Lesotho in particular, Jhpiego has been operating since 2012 through supporting the Government of Lesotho in delivering health services to the Basotho people. Jhpiego’s portfolio currently focuses on HIV/TB and COVID epidemic response and includes a range of HIV and COVID-focused programming and research efforts, HIV (VMMC and PrEP), MOSAIC (biomedical HIV prevention including Dipivefrine Ring Introduction), THEBE (TB Contact Tracing), COVID-focused (COVID Case Management and Vaccine Support), CUT-TB (RCT) and various other small studies.

Jhpiego is looking for suitable candidate for the below vacant position.

Position: Compliance Intern (OFFICE)
Duration: 3 months

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular compliance reviews and risk assessments to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of operations, compliance with policies, procedures, statutory laws and the industry best practices; and provide recommendations and advice on improvements to Jhpiego’s systems and procedures
• Work with the Senior Compliance Officer, and other Jhpiego senior staff member to ensure that internal control processes and systems are adequate to minimize risks.
• Perform and documents monitoring visits to subrecipients; and work with senior management and subgrantees to implement improvements, if required.
• Minimizes fraud through active monitoring and close review on country offices practices and procedures and participates in the development of new internal control initiatives.
• Update and report on the status of the implementation of audit and compliance recommendations on a regular basis
• Immediately reports gross misconduct or suspected fraudulent activities to the Senior Compliance Officer, Country Director and/or Human Resources Senior Manager.
• Any other special projects as assigned by the Senior Compliance Officer.

Qualifications, Experience and Requirements
Required Qualifications:

• A degree in Accounting or Finance with majors in Audit/ Risk management is preferred.
• Availability to travel locally
• Must have graduated no longer than 2 years.

Maintain a positive attitude under pressure, exhibit a strong work ethic, and enjoy working with a wide range of personalities
