Accountant, Seeq Corporation
Seeq’s Finance department supports company growth through providing precise financial transactions, clear and accurate financial reporting, and logical forecasting. The accountant will play a critical role on the Finance team in ensuring transactions are accurately categorized and recorded. They will also be a key team member driving timely cash collections from customers. Seeq is a high-growth company, and ad hoc financial analyses to support informed decision-making will be a regular part of the job.
The ideal candidate for this role is an energetic finance or accounting professional with >3 years of experience in a high-growth, startup environment. They have strong technical abilities, attention to detail, and an insatiable desire to dive deep into the numbers. They are active listeners and enjoy being a member of a collaborative, high-performance team, but are also comfortable and efficient working as an individual in a flexible remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing and approving employee expense reimbursement reports
- Collection of outstanding accounts receivable balances
- Reconciling payroll and benefits
- Managing financial and accounting software used by Seeq, including new customer setup
- Supporting the filing and remitting of taxes and other financial obligations
- Performing detailed analyses of financial data on an ad hoc basis
Qualifications
Seeq prefers to emphasize talent, capacity to contribute, and passion, but the ideal candidate is likely to have many of the following characteristics:
- Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables, sumif, countif, index, match)
- Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work individually and on a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Exceptional collaboration and internal customer support
- Previous work from home experience a plus
- Prior experience using Sage Intacct and Expensify a plus
