As the CTO at MarketerHire, you will be a technology and business leader. You will have the opportunity to define how our technology continues to completely change the future of the entire marketing industry, and the Future of Work in general.
You will set the vision, and drive the execution of how world-class technology will be used to deliver our mission of changing the landscape of entrepreneurship and business by making marketing accessible. You will work with our co-founders (CEO, CRO, CIO, CSO) to expand our vision of our core product, broader ecosystem of products and services, application of AI and machine learning, and all other future product and business goals. You will recruit and develop world-class talent to staff our engineering department.
As a leader at an extremely fast-growing startup, you will have to bridge on-the-fly problem solving with building a sustainable future. You must have attention to detail, world-class organizational skills, and the ability to communicate / document effectively. You will need an analytical mindset and be able to perform under pressure in a quickly-changing startup environment.
Lastly, you’ll need to be comfortable working remotely with large distributed teams across US time zones.
Requirements:

- Experience in a technical leadership position at a rapidly growing startup, driving roadmap, recruiting/managing/developing teams, and implementing best practices.
- Knowledge of the various approaches to software development, along with the benefits and pitfalls of each.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical work to non-engineering team members.
- Interest in marketing/advertising, or learning about it.
- Excel and enjoy being an individual contributor as required. No roles at MarketerHire are solely telling others what to do.
- Experience with either a marketplace, on-demand, b2b saas, or adtech/martech product is required.
Responsibilities:

- You will lead the development of our Technology, including internal tools/systems as well as our customer-facing product(s)/infrastructure.
- Create and deliver a sustainable and efficient architecture, applications strategy and operational plan for ongoing delivery and optimal integration of all systems.
- Develop and implement appropriate technology policies, processes, development standards and methodologies and quality assurance.
- Establish and oversee technology budgets for purchasing, staffing and technology operations.
- You will help lead, educate and establish a culture of technology and product thinking across the company.
- You will work closely with our CIO, VP Product and VP Growth to ensure our technology deliverables and engineering department delivers on business goals.
- You will work closely with all department heads to develop and communicate MarketerHire’s technical strategy/roadmap.
- You will ensure efficient workflow and world-class technical documentation.
- You will lead recruiting, building and managing an elite engineering team, creating an engineering culture that is driven to meet business objectives.
- You will bring new ideas to the table to improve and expand the MarketerHire product ecosystem.
- You will research and stay on top of the latest technological developments in order to help MarketerHire decide where to invest for short and long term enterprise value.
- You will be a public-face of the company, engaging in speaking and corporate communication opportunities to grow our brand and credibility.
In the first month you will:

- Work closely with the CEO, CIO, and VP Product to discuss and refine the overarching vision for Product and Technology.
- Hold many deep-dive sessions with the leadership (c-suite) and management (VP/directors) teams to gain a detailed understanding of current work, roadmap and needs.
- Rotate through each department shadowing their day-to-day operations in order to develop an initial company and product-wide audit.
- Take over management of the engineering department and make high priority revisions to workflow, process, etc.
- Assess departmental resources and begin making changes/recruiting.
- Define and update Quarterly OKRs for the Engineering team.
- Refine departmental KPIs as measures of technical quality and team success.
In the first three months you will:

- Completed your first major iteration on the technology roadmap with the CEO and CIO, and communicated it company-wide.
- Complete recruiting of key engineering hires.
- Identity low hanging fruit and have shipped product updates and/or internal tooling with meaningful impact to the business.
- Have the engineering department transitioned into your preferred workflow/process.
