Specification
The Community Engagement Advisor is a full-time position reports to the Technical Director. The Community Engagement Advisor will contribute to the achievement of the overall goal of the project through increasing civil society engagement and feedback for improved demand creation and biomedical prevention service delivery of accountability.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the development of the yearly operational plan
- Design the community engagement model aligned to the overall objectives of the project
- Develop tools and processes to facilitate partnerships to improve stewardship and accountability.
- Define community information needs and develop communication plan accordingly.
- Facilitate the design and implementation of community engagement trainings
- Ensure proper documentation and data collection through the development of related tools and appropriate supervision.
- Coach community coordinators in the implementation of their tasks
- Represent the project in official meeting as required
- Collaborate with other teams and team members to integrate efforts to institutionalize and increase sustainability across the components and sectors of the overall program. Assist other teams in capacity building as needed.
- Maintain positive relationship with stakeholders
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Master degree in a related field or 7-10 years of experience in a wide range of community engagement programs
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
- Experienced communicator
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in teams
- Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision
- Well-developed and effective organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task effectively, and work in a high-pressured environment
- Willingness to take on additional tasks, as requested
- Excellent written and verbal communication, liaison, and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with digital communications platforms
- Fluency in English and Sesotho required
