Position: DATA CLERK ×7

(Leribe ×2, Botha-Bothe ×1, Thaba-Tseka ×1, Qacha’s Nek ×1, Quthing ×1, Mokhotlong ×1)

Job Purpose:

The Data Clerk is responsible for the overall capturing of data in the MEAL unit. The Data Clerk is responsible for maintaining an up-to-date database to facilitate effective organizational and donor reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the M&E Assistant, the Data Clerk shall be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

• Keep the MEAL database up-to-date and support programme staff produce periodic high-quality reports,

• Ensure proper filing and storage of MEAL documents including questionnaires, monitoring reports, datasets and others,

• Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and other associated guidelines,

• Participate in regular data verification and audit exercises to assess the quality of data reported,

• Effective, timeous and accurate reporting of data,

• Support in management of a business process plan and tracker for MEAL business processes,

• Any other duties as instructed from time to time by the MEAL Assistant,

• Good interpersonal skills:

• Accuracy and attention to detail;

• Must have integrity,

Qualifications and Experience:

• Certificate in Statistics or equivalent qualification;

• At least 1 year’s data capturing experience;

• Experience with Microsoft Excel and other data analysis systems

• Adherence and knowledge of Health, Child Protection, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse and education issues,

• Excellent record of working with children and young people. No past allegations of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse

• Ability to manage time and deadlines

• Ability to function with mature judgement, tact and diplomacy ensuring that Sentebale Policies and Procedures are consistently complied with at all times;

• Ability to flexibility to travel as needed including overnight stays;

• Ability to sustain excellent relationships with external partners and stakeholders
