The Director of Brokerage Operations will be responsible for managing operational and regulatory risk associated with Broker / Dealer business activities. This associate will build a strong partnership with internal and external partners to improve the customer experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong working relationship across the organization
- International customer onboarding, money flows, and security settlement
- Be a leader to develop and attract top talent for Alpaca in clearing, settlement, and accounting
- Monitor and supervise daily processing and activity in accordance with SEC and FINRA broker dealer rules and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to understand upstream and downstream impacts to operational processes
- Written and verbal communication is a key to success
- Provide input into new procedures and processes and help improve the client experience
- Strong Customer Service focus
- Ad hoc duties and projects as assigned
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years experience in a related role
- Series 7 and 24 License required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- In-depth knowledge of Securities products
- Experience with banking and custodial relationships, including DTCC and OCC
- Understanding of Settlement processing for various security products
- Thorough understanding of Customer protection rules
- Ability to work effectively and supportively within a team environment and the ability to work independently
- Must possess the ability to adapt to a changing business and regulatory environment
- Enjoys challenges and taking ownership of new responsibilities
