JOB SUMMARY
To carry out socio-economic analysis of programs and projects, identify data sources for the formulation and monitoring of national plans, sectorial plans, strategies and policy papers.

MAIN DUTIES

  1. Participates in the identification, formulation, monitoring and evaluation of developmental programmes and projects.
  2. Carries out overall socio-economic analysis of programs and projects.
  3. Carries out monitoring of projects as they relate to sectors (including physical site visits)
  4. Prepares regular reports on physical and financial progress on all programs.
  5. Contributes in the formulation of National Development plans, sectorial plans, strategies and policy papers.
  6. Identifies data sources for the formulation of sectorial plans, strategies and policy papers.
  7. Oversees collection and analysis of data and relevant material for topical issues.
  8. Takes part in the process of preparing and distributing Judicial Development Plans.
  9. Analyses data to determine the performance and trends of key indicators.
  10. Updates and inputs data into NMES.
  11. Updates donor and project profiles.
  12. Contributes in the dissemination of the reports.
  13. Establishes feasible options to enhance performance.
  14. Prepares an annual work plan.
  15. Contributes in budget discussions, preparation and presentation.

JOB SPECIFICATION
Masters’ Degree in Economics or related Social Sciences plus two (2) years’ experience in Development Planning at Economic Planner level; and must have demonstrated professional ability, initiative and competence.
OR
Post Graduate Diploma/Honours Degree in Economics or related Social Sciences plus three (3) years’ experience in Development Planning as Economic Planner level; and must have demonstrated professional ability, initiative and competence.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or related Social Sciences plus five (5) years’ experience in Development Planning as Economic Planner level; and must have demonstrated professional ability, initiative and competence.

OTHER RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE

  1. Proven analytical skill
  2. Proven experience in date analysis and management
  3. Ability to evaluate development proposal
  4. Knowledge of Public Service Act, Codes of Good Practice and Rules and Regulation
  5. Good Communication skills
  6. Knowledge of development planning
