JOB SUMMARY
To carry out socio-economic analysis of programs and projects, identify data sources for the formulation and monitoring of national plans, sectorial plans, strategies and policy papers.
MAIN DUTIES
- Participates in the identification, formulation, monitoring and evaluation of developmental programmes and projects.
- Carries out overall socio-economic analysis of programs and projects.
- Carries out monitoring of projects as they relate to sectors (including physical site visits)
- Prepares regular reports on physical and financial progress on all programs.
- Contributes in the formulation of National Development plans, sectorial plans, strategies and policy papers.
- Identifies data sources for the formulation of sectorial plans, strategies and policy papers.
- Oversees collection and analysis of data and relevant material for topical issues.
- Takes part in the process of preparing and distributing Judicial Development Plans.
- Analyses data to determine the performance and trends of key indicators.
- Updates and inputs data into NMES.
- Updates donor and project profiles.
- Contributes in the dissemination of the reports.
- Establishes feasible options to enhance performance.
- Prepares an annual work plan.
- Contributes in budget discussions, preparation and presentation.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Masters’ Degree in Economics or related Social Sciences plus two (2) years’ experience in Development Planning at Economic Planner level; and must have demonstrated professional ability, initiative and competence.
OR
Post Graduate Diploma/Honours Degree in Economics or related Social Sciences plus three (3) years’ experience in Development Planning as Economic Planner level; and must have demonstrated professional ability, initiative and competence.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or related Social Sciences plus five (5) years’ experience in Development Planning as Economic Planner level; and must have demonstrated professional ability, initiative and competence.
OTHER RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE
- Proven analytical skill
- Proven experience in date analysis and management
- Ability to evaluate development proposal
- Knowledge of Public Service Act, Codes of Good Practice and Rules and Regulation
- Good Communication skills
- Knowledge of development planning
