ENGLISH AND SCIENCE TEACHER (UPPER PRIMARY TEACHER)

Applicants are invited for a suitably qualified teacher for the post of Upper Primary English and Science Teacher at the National University of Lesotho International School (NULIS). The school has a roll of about 350 students in the Primary Section (Reception – Stage 6) and over 291 students in the Secondary Section (S1 – S4). The students come from varying socioeconomic and multicultural backgrounds. The successful candidate will be required to teach the CAMBRIDGE CHECKPOINT 1 English and Science in the NULIS Upper Primary
Section and will be expected to participate fully in extracurricular activities and functions.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Primary Diploma in education or Graduate teacher (B.Ed. Primary) with majors in English and Science.
- A minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience at the Primary level is a prerequisite.
- Experience at Cambridge Checkpoint 1 and a relevant post-graduate degree will be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To teach the CAMBRIDGE CHECKPOINT 1 ENGLISH and SCIENCE in the
NULIS Upper Primary Section (Stage 4 – 6).
- To conduct at least two extra-curricular activities and one club offered by the school.
- To participate fully in all school activities and functions.
- To further teach English and any Natural Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) in any section if need be.
- To help in any subject in the Lower Primary when necessary.
Remuneration:
The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications.
Employment type:
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable terms for Locals, and Two Years Contract for NonLocals with a possibility of renewal.
