JOB SUMMARY
The Hospital Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety. and efficiency of all physical aspects of the hospital facilities. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the continuity of the infrastructure services in the hospital and enable an environment for quality health care. This role involves strategic planning. coordination of maintenance activities, compliance with regulations. and ensuring a safe and functional environment for patients. staff. and visitors. The Hospital Facility Manager works closely with various departments to address facility needs and implement improvements to meet the hospital’s operational objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and implement facility management policies and procedures to ensure the efficient operation of the hospital facility.
  2. Plan and oversee maintenance, repair, and renovation projects to ensure the facility meets regulatory standards and is well-maintained.
  3. Prepares, implements and assures follow-up of structure maintenance strategy. creates and implements safety plans, and efficiently manages resources
  4. ⁠Manage the maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors to ensure the timely completion of work orders and projects.
  5. Monitor and control facility operating costs to ensure budget compliance and cost-effectiveness.
  6. Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify potential issues and address maintenance needs promptly.
  7. Collaborate with department heads to assess facility needs and develop plans for improvement or expansion.
  8. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, building codes, and other legal requirements.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners. such as suppliers and service providers. to support facility operations.
  10. Participate in disaster preparedness planning and response activities to ensure the facility’s readiness to handle emergencies.
  11. Ensuring that fire prevention and occupant safety measures are in place.
  12. Manage performance of staff under his/her supervision

JOB SPECIFICATION
Master’s degree In Facility Management/Engineering plus 2 yrs experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management. Engineering, or a related field.

EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience in facility management. preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of building systems. maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements related to healthcare facilities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively coordinate with staff and external partners.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems. develop solutions. and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, such as facility management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or similar certification is desirable.
