The Support Accountant is the entry level position in the Accountants job family. They operate at a local level, taking their guidance from the Accountant and dealing with low to medium complexity accounts.
Their primary objective is to assist with the processing of transactions, management and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, prepare financial reports, process journal entries and assist process the accounting month end.
Will also be responsible for understanding variances between budgets and forecast results
What you’ll be doing
Performs accounting functions
The Support Accountant assists with the processing of month-end activities which includes the preparation and processing of month-end journal entries, reconciling accounts and executing a variety of routine actions in the accounting system.
Produces financial reports
Support Accountants will assist with the preparation of all month end and relevant reporting. Will assist with the analysis of income statement accounts and understanding the variances between actual and budget results
Behavioural skills
The Support Accountant displays good planning and organising ability and demonstrates good attention to detail. They have the ability to self-manage and are deadline driven individuals who contribute to the success of the team.
