The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:
Position: Laboratory Demonstrator
Department: Pharmacy
Faculty: Health Sciences

- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
The applicant must be a Pharmacist registered with the Lesotho Medical Dental and Pharmacy Council and must have a minimum of Bachelor of Pharmacy (honours) with second class: second division or above. One (1) year relevant work experience in institution(s) of higher learning will be an added advantage.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist students in compounding and formulation of extemporaneous preparations in the laboratories.
- Overseeing and developing of practical manuals for pharmacy laboratory based courses.
- Overseeing pharmaceutical sterile laboratory.
- Developing standard operating procedures, quality manuals, methods and protocols as preparation for accrediting the laboratories.
- Supervising students during drug analysis laboratory practical sessions (Infra-red and Ultraviolet Spectroscopy).
- Perform quality control in pharmaceutical dosage forms.
- Order laboratory consumables and keep inventory of the laboratory consumables and equipment.
- Assess laboratory practical’s and do tutorials for laboratory based courses.
- Participate in departmental research programmes.
- TYPE OF CONTRACT:
The appointment will be a 1 year and 8 months fixed-term contract
