National Control Centre Supervisor In the Engineering Division

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned position.
The position is tenable at LEC Headquarters in Maseru and the incumbent will report to the Section Engineer Control.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering
EXPERIENCE PROGRESSION & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• 3 years’ relevant working experience.
• Experience in electrical power system control and operations environment will be an added advantage.
• Analytical skills, adaptability and flexibility.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Computer literacy and report writing skills are essential
• Methodical and disciplined approach to work
• Interpersonal and people skills
• A valid Driver’s Licence
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
• Supervising control operations of the National transmission network and monitoring the status thereof.
• Authorising all electrical networks’ switching in accordance with LEC Safety Rules.
• Compiling and analysing daily and monthly transmission faults records.
• Preparing and implementing daily shift plans of the National Control Centre (NCC) and allocating resources accordingly in line with weekly plans prepared by Section Engineer Control.
• Writing and submitting reports to the Section Engineer Control on the status of the power system and the control system equipment, focusing on solving problem areas.
• Overseeing the monitoring of the transmission network from the NCC and thus maintain an updated status of the network at all times.
• Checking that the SCADA equipment functions well at all times by attending to all malfunctions promptly and reporting to Section Engineer Control any malfunctions.
• Liaising with Engineering Division’s relevant supervisory and Managerial personnel during transmission network faults.
• Monitoring the NCC Controllers and field staff adherence to LEC safety rules and regulations.
