Occupational Health Intern – Pretoria ( 85 and 86 for temps )
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide the incumbent with the necessary skills and specific competencies in his/her field of discipline on a 1 year contract.
REPORTING TO: Health and Wellness Sister
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Liaise with different role players on different departments as well as different operating units.
- Develop a comprehensive chemical database of all chemicals used in the South African region.
- The incumbent will collate comprehensive information on the following:
- Chemical identification;
- Constituents;
- Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and related CAS numbers and UN numbers; and
- Compatible storage vs incompatible storage recommendations
- Clinical information (adverse health effects of acute & chronic exposure)

- Chemical background with understanding/interest in health
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- BSc BioMedical / Registered with the South Africa Institute for Occupational Hygiene (IOHA) or equivalent qualification
- No experience required
- Proficient in MS Office
