JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent is expected to ensure efficient and effective implementation of procurement policies and procedures on acquisition, maintenance of disposal of stores.
MAIN DUTIES
- Implement the procurement regulations, manual and process operation instructions and offers guidance from time to time.
- Prepares the initial draft of the invitation to tender document including the draft contract and submits to the senior procurement officer for approval and issue.
- Maintain supplier’s data base.
- Manages and evaluates performance of subordinate staff.
- Counterchecks invoices before forwarding for payment.
- Obtains quotations for goods and services after approval for procurement.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Business Management / Commerce plus Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) with two (2) years relevant working experience.
OR
BA degree in Business Management / BA Degree in Commerce / equivalent Procurement Degree plus Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), with three (3) years relevant work experience.
OR
Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), plus four (4) years relevant work experience including skills based training.
OR
Diploma in Business Management plus advanced International Certificate in Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and five (5) years relevant work experience.
Other Relevant knowledge
- Knowledge of the Public Service Rules and Regulations.
- Knowledge of Financial and Procurement Regulations.
