Job Title: PRODUCTION PLANNER

To be responsible for issuing and tracking work orders to the factory floor and ensuring that required materials are supplied to the production area as per the agreed production schedule. This position is also responsible for expediting and prioritizing work orders and coordinating and managing weekly production schedule meetings.

The successful candidate must have advanced skills, a proven professional experience and a detailed

knowledge of industry’s best practice processes.

This position will report to the Supply Chain Supervisor and will be responsible for and not be limited to the following:

• Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of specified products.

• Plans and schedules workflow for each section according to previously established manufacturing

sequences and lead times.

• Plans sequence of assembling, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of

production workers.

• Check product specifications.

• Attend regular production meetings with the production managers.

• Prepares production and key performance indicators reports.

• Prepares requisition list of materials and consumables.

• Daily processing of works orders.

• Monitor daily stock levels.

• Periodic stock takes duties.

• Produce weekly/monthly productivity/efficiency reports of all cost centers.

THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS for this position are:

• Matric and/or related qualification

• Prior experience in a similar role would be a major advantage

• Must be computer literate

• Good communication skills

• In-depth knowledge of stock control.

• Report writing skills

• Attention to detail

• Must be proficient in English

• Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing industry.
