Mothae Diamonds (Pty) Ltd is currently recruiting for the following position: RECOVERY MECHANICIAN
GENERAL JOB PURPOSE
Mothae Diamonds has a mine-based vacancy for a Recovery Mechanician whose main purpose will be to inspect and maintain Final Recovery Equipment (mainly TOMRA XRT and Flowsort machines).
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain XRT spares stores and ensure that spares are kept at prescribed levels.
• Assist TOMRA technicians with XRT maintenance and repairs.
• Work closely with the Recovery Operators to ensure optimal efficiency of recovery machines, including but not limited to TOMRA Insight monitoring and reporting, tracer tests, white balance tests and valve tests.
• Assist processing and engineering teams to ensure maintenance performed per plan.
• Stand in for Recovery Operators.
• Ensure that productivity and efficiency targets are met.
• Other ad-hoc duties as directed from time to time.
• Report to the Recovery Superintendent as required and directed.
• Perform Recovery administrative duties in relation to production data, maintenance plan and schedules, as well as maintenance feedback.
• Perform regular inspections and maintenance of Recovery and Sorthouse equipment to optimize equipment availability.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Relevant Electrical or Mechanical Diploma/Degree.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Detailed knowledge of final recovery plant equipment.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Excellent technical, electrical and mechanical skills.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Medical examination of fitness.
• No past or outstanding criminal conviction.
