VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following post:
Post No. 2206 – Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Physical Chemistry
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for one position of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technology. This position will be permanent and pensionable for locals or fixed term contract of two years with the possibility of subsequent renewals upon satisfactory performance for internationals.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
The minimum qualification for this post is MSc in Physical Chemistry with satisfactory teaching experience at a recognized university or an equivalent institution of higher learning. A PhD with strong inclination towards Theoretical Chemistry, Quantum Chemistry and, or Computational Chemistry will be an added advantage.
DUTIES:
Duties will include the following:
Teaching of Physical Chemistry courses to both undergraduate and postgraduate students
Supervision of laboratory sessions for the practical components of courses assigned to teach
Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students’ projects
Participate in the research activities of the department
Writing research proposals that can attract research funds, designing new courses and/or programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate training.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the department from time to time.
