ABOUT THE ROLE
ALU & ALCHE are entering an exciting phase of growth, and we are seeking an experienced and results-driven South(ern) Regional Manager. This role is responsible for enrolling fee-paying students throughout South(ern) Africa, particularly in key markets such as South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia & Angola. The manager will also work closely with the reps for Mauritius & Madagascar markets.
A candidate with prior experience in higher education enrollment and established relationships with high schools, teachers, and recruitment agencies would be highly advantageous. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to lead a team in executing outreach activities, meeting (and exceeding) targets, and enhancing our presence among key stakeholders in designated markets. We seek an ambitious and passionate salesperson to help us expand our market share in South(ern) Africa.
This role requires extensive travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Self-Motivated and Results-Driven: The role requires a self-directed individual who is motivated by commercial results and has experience in the education sector.
- Lead Generation: Lead and manage initiatives to generate high-quality leads for the ALU & ALCHE application pipeline, contributing to meeting recruitment targets.
- Student Referral Process: Plan and implement the student referral process, ensuring quality leads enter the pipeline.
- Communication Management: Manage communication channels in the student referral process through emails, newsletters, and direct calls.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Plan and oversee stakeholder engagement, webinars, and events.
- Lead Engagement: Engage leads up to the point of admission and serves as a support contact until enrollment.
- Relationship Building: Build sustainable relationships with key influencers, including high school associations, education agencies, and corporations.
- Collaboration: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with ALU & ALCHE partner organisations, such as foundations.
- Resource Utilisation: Utilise available resources in an engaging manner to drive the African Leadership Group narrative.
- Database Management: Grow our database of educators and schools, maintaining ownership of the pipeline data.
- Seminars and Workshops: Plan and facilitate seminars and workshops to nurture prospective students and clients.
- Reporting and Proposals: Prepare reports and proposals as necessary for current and potential clients.
- Market Feedback: Share feedback and insights from the market to inform African Leadership Group’s overall South(ern) Africa student recruitment strategy.
- Awareness Improvement: Support the development and implementation of a strategy to increase awareness of ALU applications by fee-paying students across the continent.
- Student Support: Provide support to fee-paying students throughout the application and enrollment journey.
- Team Management: Manage recruitment representatives to achieve enrollment targets.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by your manager.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree
- Master’s degree (Desirable)
- Proven track record in B2B and/or B2C sales/ business development environment.
- Evidence of using a consultative sales approach within a commercial environment.
- Experience in an African context.
- Proven experience of working to and successfully achieving revenue targets.
- Experience in student recruitment & agency relationship management.

South Africa(Preferred)
Lesotho, Zambia & Zimbabwe (Additional locations).
This person will have to commit to extensive travel around the continent.
