Background:
The Ministry of Health (MOH) will be receiving funding from the Global Fund to support the implementation of TB and HIV programmes. The main goal of the grant is sustaining gains made in HIV treatment and improving the quality of the programme, accelerating HIV prevention, addressing human rights barriers to assessing services, strengthening health and community systems to improve HIV, TB and SRH outcomes, scaling up the MDR -TB care and prevention and PLHIV given co-infection. To enable MOH Global Fund supported activities effectively, workforce is required to fill posts on fixed contract until 31st March 2027.
TB Officer
Job purpose: to improve TB management in all districts. The TB Officer is responsible for overseeing the performance of health facility that deliver staff that deliver outpatient and inpatient care, including public and non-public health centres.
- To improve DOTS management
- To improve TB success rate
- Develop district plan for action of TB control.
- Conduct supervisory visits for TB control.
- Ensure laboratory support for TB control.
- Provide training for TB control in the district.
- Monitor TB control efforts in the district.
- Evaluate TB control efforts in the district.
- Advocate for TB and collaborate with healthcare providers and programs.
- Conduct or participate in small studies.
Key performance outputs
- To have drawn work-plan for TB control
- To have collected and collated data: from hospitals
- Identified district level activities needed for planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
- To have trained community health workers
- Monthly supervisory visits conducted.
- Quarterly assessment of competency of all staff involved int h TB control.
- TB awareness

Competencies
Degree in Nursing/ Diploma in Environmental Health Plus 2 years’ experience in Public Health
OR
Diploma in Nursing/ Diploma in community health plus 2 years’ experience in Public Health
