Coinbase Ventures was launched in 2018 with the mandate to support the growing crypto ecosystem by investing in teams and projects that push the industry forward. Since launch, Coinbase Ventures has backed some of the industry’s most important projects at the earliest stages and has also become one of the most prolific investors in crypto by deal count, with over 200+ portfolio companies today. The Ventures team sits at the bleeding edge of the industry, providing an important strategic benefit to both Coinbase and the ecosystem by supporting the development of the broader crypto ecosystem and building strong relationships between industry leaders and compelling entrepreneurs.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

• Ideate, research, and eventually publish content on behalf of Coinbase Ventures via the Around The Block blog, podcast, and other social channels
• Break down complex crypto topics for a general audience
• Research and publish long form writing on the bleeding edge of crypto to help inform the industry and Coinbase employees on key topics and trends
• Research topics for the Around The Block Podcast to help our hosts drive informed discussions
• Leverage your existing networking and create new connections within the industry to support your research and writing
• Own key Coinbase Ventures social media channels to produce and distribute content to amplify Coinbase Ventures original content and highlight portfolio companies.
• Create and test Around the Block content in various formats and channels, including video/audio clips, screenshots, charts/graphs, diagrams, tweetstorms, etc.
• Work closely with the Ventures Investment and Platform team to support thematic sourcing, deal diligence, and portfolio value creation

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

• Demonstrable 2+ year passion for crypto, particularly with respect to research and content
• Excellent writing and communication skills specifically applicable to the experience mentioned above
• Referenceable published content in the public domain
• BA/BS degree
• Self-starter, strong collaborator, and effective communicator across all levels
• Background in or knowledge of crypto, fintech, or finance.

Nice to haves:

• Experience with social media and media production
• Experience at a top-tier crypto media company
• Familiarity using crypto protocols and applications
• Engineering experience, preferably in or with blockchains
• MS or advanced degree
